Provisional data from the Bank of Sierra Leone indicates that there are 966 256 Sierra Leoneans with bank accounts in a population of over six million; a very low level in the Africa sub-region. The data also proved that Sierra Leone has one of the lowest bank penetrations in Africa with one branch per 70,000 people. |
